When testing the random distribution of the numbers generated by a
random number generator, it is sometimes useful to do a
two-dimensional test. That is, use the consecutively generated random
numbers as pairs of X,Y coordinates and plot a point at these
coordinates. If the generator is truly random, the points must be
distributed uniformly. I have seen at least one RNG which generates
are granular picture - that is the points tend to group into
clusters...
